Celebrating spring and the wealth of flora it brings us every year, the city of Funchal is once again the stage for this sumptuous spectacle that will please both the eyes and nose.
On Saturday morning, thousands of youngsters will take part in the Children's Parade, each carrying a flower to place in a mural known as the "Wall of Hope", located in Praça do Município. Doves will be released to mark the end of the wall's construction and there will also be a show for the children.
Sunday brings another dazzling event: the Grand Flower Parade. Hundreds of flower-themed floats and characters will make their way through the city in lavish style to the sound of music in keeping with the Festival, displaying arrangements of many different species of flower typical to the island and leaving soft and ephemeral perfumes in their wake.
The Flower Festival, one of the Islands' most colourful celebrations, is more than just a tribute to the flowers of the Madeira Islands. It provides the opportunity to keep genuine Madeiran traditions alive and transforms the city of Funchal, for a few days, into a magnificent stage for all kinds of artistic and cultural expression

Celebrando a Primavera e o exuberante florescer típico da época, uma vez mais a cidade do Funchal é palco de um sumptuoso espectáculo, tanto a nível visual como do olfacto.

No Sábado, pela manhã, milhares de crianças participam no Cortejo Infantil, cada uma com uma flor para colocar num mural denominado "Muro da Esperança", localizado na Praça do Município. A construção do muro termina com uma largada de pombos e um espectáculo infantil.

No Domingo acontece outro deslumbrante evento, o Grande Cortejo da Flor, que consiste num desfile em que centenas de figurantes e carros alegóricos alusivos à flor, atravessam sumptuosamente a cidade ao som de músicas em harmonia com a Festa, exibindo conjugações de uma multiplicidade de espécies florais típicas da ilha, deixando no ar suaves e efémeros perfumes.

A Festa da Flor, uma das festas mais coloridas da Ilha, para além de homenagear as flores da Madeira, dá continuidade às genuínas tradições madeirenses e transforma a cidade do Funchal, durante vários dias, num palco maravilhoso, onde ocorrem as mais variadas manifestações artísticas e culturais.

Navega Bem - Web Design‘ celebrate another successful project launch with the introduction of a unique digital DVD download website Fishing DVDs.

The site was officially launched at their design and development office in Funchal, Madeira - by the development team, project manager and sponsors.

Fishing DVDs is a technological innovation designed to allow the immediate download and subsequent play or burn of digital sportfishing movies. The site has been developed to cater for fishing fans that want to purchase quality films and who do not want to wait for postal delivery or pay expensive courier charges.

The development team responsible for the project have used Joomla 1.5 as the framework for the site and incorporated several proprietary programming features together with Virtuemart and technological innovation from a Norwegian company that have developed a combined payment platform and DRM (Digital Rights Management) clearing house as well as the creators of a compression utility developed in a Danish university that are based in Germany.

The owners of the site Strike Button Productions are also responsible for the recently launched and immensely popular online video magazine Marlin World.

Not surprisingly, leading film producers in the sportfishing film industry are showing great interest in this opportunity to sell their DVDs online.
